Easton's Room

Easton has moved rooms a handful of times as we try to figure out the best sleeping arrangement for him.  I recently moved him from the bunk beds to a room of his own, Noah's old room.  He spent a few weeks sleeping at night in the toddler bed while I dragged my feet in setting up a proper room for him.  Noah was still napping in his old room and one day decided to take a Sharpie marker to just about every surface.  No one knows where he got it from.  It was a mess.  Walls, window, bed, bedding, crib, floors, baseboards all scribbled on.  He did a number on it. Just a small sampling:
As furious as I was over the mess, it was kind of nice to get a kick in the butt to finally make it Easton's room.  I scrubbed, cleaned and covered the marker with Kilz and repainted every surface in the room except for the ceiling.  Thankfully the prep in covering the marker was successful and you wouldn't even know the terrible mess Noah had created, and Easton is so very pleased with his new room!

Before:
(please ignore the dusty, dusty floor where the toddler bed had been...gross)

After:

The best part is the whole revamp cost under $120!  We recycled the big "E" over his bed from our 2012 Christmas Card:

...the main frame on the wall is from our 2013 Christmas Card photo:

...and the three little white Pottery Barn frames were from Noah's footprint progression:

The wall paints were "leftovers" and all the furniture was recycled.  The most expensive thing we needed to buy was the floor paint.  We love it, and he loves it, and that makes it priceless!
