Honoring Elsa

Elsa won her State Championship during the last few weeks of the school year, and the opportunity to recognize her accomplishment really didn't present itself.  This being Fillmore's 1st State Champion, they did what to honor her in a special way, and that finally happened this Homecoming weekend in a surprise ceremony for her.  

From the ceremony:

"It's an honor to coach a State Champion, but Elsa's accomplishments are all her own. Our team's workouts focus on making our athletes the best they can be, but Elsa takes it to another level. I am sure many of you have seen Elsa running the roads year round. These aren't our workouts, they are hers. It is Elsa's commitment to be the best. With a lot of dedication, and very helpful input from her Grandfather, Elsa became the best 2000m Steeplechaser in New York State." ~ Kari Mancuso

She was really surprised, and tickled, and was thankful they took the time to honor her!  They unveiled the banner that will forever hang in the gym, and also presented her with her own smaller banner, which she has hung up above her bed.  Congratulations, Elsa!  You totally deserve it!
