Michael and his music
As a sophomore, Michael attended a higher level solo-fest in hopes of receiving a high enough score to qualify for All-State (our state's highest vocal honor for High School students). He rocked it out with a 100/100 and did indeed get the honor of attending All-State this year as a Junior. He was excited to try again, especially because it is also an All-Eastern year (best of the HS musicians in the Eastern part of the US). His solo-fest score this year will work towards his entry for both of those next year, his Senior Year.
But we received another surprise in the mail. He is also being considered for All-Nationals being held October 26-29th in Nashville, TN. We are completing his portfolio, and crossing our fingers that he is accepted for this honor!!
He attended the long awaited solo-fest this weekend and again earned a 100/100! This guarantees him a spot in December's All-State, makes his acceptance into All-Eastern almost a given, and goes a long way in bolstering his portfolio for Nationals. He did his solo-fest in style, wearing his prom suit for the occasion. So proud of my oldest son! May you forever sing with the gift God so freely blessed you with!!!
