New Balance Nationals 2014

Elsa and Tess worked really hard to be stronger, faster, and most importantly qualify for Nationals this year.  Ha!  Seriously, they were both pretty happy to make it, and I was excited to go down to Greensboro, NC with one of my closest friends.  We left Thursday morning and traveled the 9 hours to our friends house in Virginia.

Cassie moved away this past year and we have missed their family greatly!  We all got a good nights sleep and traveled the final 2 hours to Nationals!

She placed 8th in the Freshman 2 Mile with her second fastest time!  She was really hoping to medal, but it wasn't meant to be, not today.  It was pretty late after her race so we went and checked into our hotel room and did our best to get a good nights sleep.  Before we knew it we were back at the track, ready for day 2!

She ran a great 2000m Steeplechase with her second fastest time (7:17.93) and placed 17 in the Championship Division.  She came in ranked 25th, so this was a great accomplishment, and Peepa came to enjoy it all too!

Tess was up next!

She pulled out her second fastest time for the mile, even in the 88 degree heat.  She placed 7th and only missed a 6th place medal by .02 in the Freshman Mile!  So proud of these girls :)  After the races we went out to dinner with another family that moved away a couple of years ago.  It was a lovely time, and Tess' birthday, so even more reason to celebrate.

After a 4 hour dinner we traveled back to our friends house in VA and rested the best we could.  It was hard to say goodbye in the morning, but we were all pretty excited to get back to our families at home.

It was a great 4 day whirl-wind of a trip.  Can't wait to do it all again next year!
