WCS Invitational

The coaches had to pre-register the kids for this track meet and Elsa was very nervous about being scheduled to run the 400 and 800 with only 1 event in between.  She was even more nervous that Peepa was coming out to see this meet.

She needn't have worried.  She ran the 400 and broke her previously set school record with a time of 70.7!  But it was the 800 she was most worried about because there was only one event between the two, and the 400 is a tiring and exhausting race.  She jumped another height in the high jump and then they called for the 800 runners.  She was so happy to finish with 2nd place with a time under 3 minutes, and I love how excited she was that Tess won it.  Then they rushed Elsa back to the high jump and she jumped 2 inches higher than her previous school record.  I jumped and hollered so loudly I embarrassed her a bit, but I wouldn't be a mother if I didn't embarrass her at least a few times in her teenage years.  :)

We were happy to have Meema and Peepa here for the weekend and one of the highlights was the game night.  Tess came home with us after the track meet and once we got the boys to bed we all started playing games!  I have no idea how the boys slept through the ruckus going on during our games, but we had a great time, and 12:30am came too quickly.

Oh, and I got sunburned at the track meet. Bad.  But it was worth it!
