Polar Bear Series 10 miler

This was race 3 of 4 in the series and everyone was confident that they were ready to give it their best shot!  This would be the longest distance Tess and Elsa have ever completed, and it's been ages since Peepa has run this far.  We were excited that Meema and Peepa came out from Ohio, and we had JD and Jan along for the ride as well.  Best weather so far, and it made for some fun mile-marker antics.  So fun to cheer throughout the race!

 

(no mile 5 stop for the cheerers...we would have had to drive too close behind the runners to get there, so we decided to wait at mile 4/6)

The whole snowball series:

(no mile 9 stop...as it was, we only made it back about a minute before Elsa crossed the finish line)

They finished strong!  Elsa came in at 1:21.27 and Peepa and Tess crossed together at 1:26.13.  Elsa and Tess were 1st and 2nd in their age division and Peepa placed 3rd in his! Somehow they all felt better crossing the 10 mile finish line than they did after the last race which was only a 10K.

 So proud of all three of them, and now onto training for the 1/2 marathon!
